- Looking for a dealership? Efficiency Maine has an Electric Vehicle Dealer Portal that provides a list of dealerships that are participating in their rebate program.
- Want to know more about how much you can save when you go electric? Carbon Counter has created a chart that compares every gas-powered and electric vehicle on the market.
There are a number of state and federal incentives that can significantly reduce the cost of going electric.
Residential
- Receive a federal tax credit worth up to $7,500 off a new EV. View the Department of Energy's list of eligible vehicles and information on how to claim the credit. There is also a used vehicle tax credit worth $4,000.
- Receive an instant rebate from Efficiency Maine for up to $7,500 off select new models of EVs. View their Eligible Vehicles List. The rebate amounts vary. Customers with middle-income can get $3,500 off and qualified low-income customers can get $7,500. Efficiency Maine also offers rebates for used EVs.
Businesses and Other Entities
- Government entities, tribal governments, and non profits can receive an instant rebate from Efficiency Maine for up to $7,500 off select new models of EVs. Visit their Electric Vehicles Incentives webpage for more information.
- For a limited time, Maine businesses can receive a rebate for business fleet purchases of 5+ vehicles for up to $8,000 per vehicle. Visit Efficiency Maine's Limited-Time Electric Vehicle Incentives for Fleet Vehicles webpage.
Additionally, be on the lookout for manufacturer rebates which pop up from time to time.
