View the the Community Resource Directory (PDF) (updated Jan. 2020). The programs and resources are organized by topic and may be able to assist you in addressing current concerns you are facing. If you are behind in your utility payments, it is important to first try to make payment arrangements with your utility provider. Keep in mind that all of the programs and resources listed in the Directory have eligibility requirements, which means that you may not qualify for every program. In addition, most of these programs and resources are designed to meet emergency needs, not to pay your bills on a regular basis.

Maine Helpline, Crisis & Referral Services

211 is a free, confidential information and referral service that connects people of all ages across Maine to local services. 211 Maine is based in Maine and available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Whether it’s financial assistance, domestic violence, addiction treatment, health care, mental health, or heating and utilities assistance, 211 Maine will talk to you to find out what you need and walk you through all the options to find the right service or program for you.
