Polling Information
There will be a State and Municipal General and Referendum Election on November 5, 2024. Polls will be open 7 AM - 8 PM. Voters can also vote absentee (learn more about absentee voting below). Find your polling location.
Absentee Voting
You can vote in person or pick up a ballot at City Hall, or request that one be sent to your home online or by calling the Clerk's office at (207) 767-3201 . Voters may vote absentee in person at City Hall during regular office hours Monday-Thursday starting October 1, 2024. The last day to vote absentee without cause at City Hall, or request or pick up your absentee ballot, is October 31, 2024 at 5 PM. All absentee ballots must be returned by November 5, 2024 at 8 PM (election day). Get more absentee voting information.
Extended Hours for Election Services
The City Clerk’s Office will offer extended hours for election services only on:
- Saturday, October 19th 8AM-12PM
- Saturday, October 26th 8AM-12PM
- Tuesday, October 29th open until 7PM
- Wednesday, October 30th open until 7PM

The following are candidates on the ballot for the Municipal General Election:
City Council - District Three (3 year term)

School Board – District Five (3 year term) and the Portland Water District Trustee (5 year term) for Cape Elizabeth/South Portland are OPEN. Since there is no candidate named on the ballot, write-in candidates shall be named by voters. Pursuant to M.R.S.A Title 30-A, Chapter 3 - City Election § 2554(2) “a voter may write in the name and municipality of residence of any person for whom the voter desires to vote in the blank space provided.”
