Career
Marin Stephens joined the South Portland Planning and Development Department in October of 2024. Marin's experience includes development review, long-range planning, and metropolitan transportation planning.
Prior to joining South Portland, Marin was a Senior Planner for the New Orleans City Planning Commission and New Orleans Health Department. Marin previously worked for the New Orleans Regional Planning Commission as a Transportation Planner. At the Regional Planning Commission she also worked on environmental resiliency efforts as the Coordinator for the Southeast Louisiana Clean Fuels Partnership in association with the U.S. Department of Energy and the Region 8 Co-Coordinator for the Louisiana Watershed Initiative.
Prior to her career in urban and transportation planning, Marin was the owner of a local bike shop in New Orleans and worked in the documentary film/TV industry between New York, Los Angeles, and Louisiana.
Education
Marin holds a Master of Science in Transportation from the University of New Orleans, and a Bachelors of Arts/Film & TV Degree from Emerson College in Boston.
