The City is aware of a sink hole on the Mahoney property field in the outfield near second base. The hole is 3-4' deep and 12-16" in diameter. The City has marked this area with stakes and caution tape, and we urge visitors to avoid this part of the field. These "voids" have occurred on this field in the past, and the hole is most likely due to weather effects and matter settling. Please avoid this part of the field until the City resolves the issue, which is expected by the end of the week.
UPDATE 5 PM: The hole has been temporarily filled and the Facilities Department will return later this week to examine further. Facilities will be staking the spot where the hole was. Please avoid this area while using the field.
